Return and Refund Policy
Wines – and particularly old vintages – are fragile products. Each bottle is selected, stored, and prepared for shipment with care to preserve its integrity.
No Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to rare wines, collectible bottles, fine wines intended for aging, or old vintages whose market price is subject to fluctuation.
Therefore, all orders placed on our website are firm and final.
No return, exchange, or refund will be accepted in the event of:
- A change of mind
- Subjective appreciation of taste
- Wines showing evolved aromas or defects such as “cork taint”
These natural variations may occur with age and do not constitute a defect and cannot justify a claim.
Bottle Condition
Older bottles may show variations in appearance (labels, capsules, levels, wooden cases or packaging).
It is the buyer’s responsibility to request recent photographs before purchasing.
Claims relating to visual condition will not be accepted.
Exceptional Returns
A return is possible only if expressly authorized by WINEUPONATIME in advance (e.g., incorrect reference shipped).
If a return is approved:
- Return shipping, transport insurance, customs fees, and taxes are entirely at the buyer’s expense
- Products must be returned in their original condition and packaging
- Any depreciation may be deducted from the refund
Delays in delivery, customs holds, or carrier-related issues do not constitute grounds for return or refund.
Order Cancellation by the Seller
WINEUPONATIME reserves the right to cancel an order before shipment in the event of:
- Stock discrepancy
- Logistical impossibility
- Incomplete or inconsistent customer information
- Suspicion of fraud
In such cases, the buyer will be refunded in full using the same payment method used at the time of purchase.
