Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2015: The Perfection of a Saint-Julien Grand Cru Classé
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Second Cru Classé in 1855, owes its unique name to the "beautiful pebbles" (beaux cailloux) of quartz and gravel that make up its exceptional terroir. Directly overlooking the Gironde estuary, this elite vineyard benefits from a unique protective microclimate. Under the visionary and perfectionist direction of Bruno Borie, the estate has risen to the absolute pinnacle of the Médoc, producing wines of such consistency and stylistic rigor that they regularly rival the Premiers Grands Crus Classés.
The 2015 vintage stands out as a major year in Saint-Julien. Characterized by ideal climatic conditions and a warm summer, it allowed for exceptional phenolic ripeness of the Cabernets. Ducru-Beaucaillou 2015 is a wine of remarkable concentration, endowed with a brilliant freshness that ensures monumental aging potential, extending over several decades.

Team Tasting Notes
The robe impresses with its dark, incredibly dense purple-violet color. On the nose, the wine unfolds an intense bouquet of masterful purity: crème de cassis, wild blackberry, violet, cigar box, and subtle notes of cedar and licorice. On the palate, the attack is sumptuous, voluminous, and immensely direct. The texture is beautifully velvety, supported by tight, ripe tannins of aristocratic finesse. An interminable, fresh, and mineral finish, a sign of a very great aging wine.
Major Pairings
A wine of such stature deserves exceptional cuisine. It will grandly accompany a rack of lamb roasted in a herb crust, beef Wellington, duck breast with morels, or a venison haunch with grand veneur sauce. Ideal serving temperature around 17°C after a slight aeration in the bottle.
