Champagne Salon Cuvée "S" 1996 Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Brut

Salon Champagnes are among the most exclusive, along with Krug Champagnes. Located in Le Mesnil, the House was founded in 1905 by Eugène-Aimé Salon. For once, it's not difficult to navigate the cuvées. Salon produces a single Cuvée, the "S," made from the sole Chardonnay grand cru grape variety, sourced exclusively from Mesnil-sur-Oger, always vintage-aged and only in very fine vintages. All these reasons make it an exceptional and unique Champagne.

Tasting Notes Salon 1996 : A pale yellow wine with green highlights. The bubbles are fine and active. The bouquet is characterized by aromas of green apples, first, then the freshest citrus fruits, lemon, grapefruit, with a softness of pear and kiwi. The palate is complex and fresh, with minerality at its peak.

Tasting advice : A champagne to be enjoyed "barely chilled" between 13° and 15° to appreciate its full power.
