Presentation of Masi Estate
Masi Estate is an institution in Valpolicella, renowned for bringing Amarone to international prominence. For generations, the Boscaini family has perpetuated ancestral know-how, combining Venetian tradition with oenological innovation. Masi is one of the few estates that has managed to preserve the authenticity of the region's historical aromatic profiles.
Presentation of the Cuvée and Appellation
At the time of this vintage, this cuvée bore the full appellation "Recioto della Valpolicella Amarone," highlighting its historical roots. Although vinified dry, this wine is made using the traditional appassimento (grape drying) technique. The 15.5% alcohol content displayed on this 1974 bottle testifies to the exceptional concentration of the grapes during drying on racks.
Presentation of the 1974 Vintage
The 1974 vintage in Veneto is considered a classic and robust year. The climatic conditions allowed for healthy grapes with beautiful natural acidity. This acidic backbone is the secret to the longevity of this bottle, allowing the wine to maintain its balance despite its alcoholic power.
Bottle Condition
Perfect fill level (very high for its age), label and capsule in excellent condition. Storage in a natural cellar has preserved the aesthetic and technical integrity of this collector's bottle.
