Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo "Brunate" 2013: The Pinnacle of Tradition and Pure Piedmontese Elegance

Wine Presentation: The Authentic Soul of Barolo

The Giuseppe Rinaldi Estate embodies the purest, most uncompromising, and poetic expression of great Piedmontese wines. Located on the mythical Brunate cru, straddling the municipalities of Barolo and La Morra, this exceptional terroir offers marly-calcareous soils of rare geological richness. Historically, the estate blended crus (Brunate-Le Coste). When the MGA (Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive) regulations in 2010 required at least 85% of a single cru to display its name, Rinaldi had to adapt its labels to maintain its traditional blends (which became Tre Tine and CINQUE). However, the Brunate cuvée contains 85% fruit from the famous Brunate cru (Barolo/La Morra) and 15% from the Le Coste cru. Respecting the estate's centuries-old tradition, the "Brunate" cuvée marries the mineral power of this historic plot with uncompromising artisanal winemaking: fermentation in open wooden vats with indigenous yeasts and long aging in large Slavonian oak barrels. A monument of complexity, built to last for decades.

2013 Vintage: A Classic and Monumental Vintage

The 2013 vintage is universally celebrated in the Langhe as a very classic year, reminiscent of Piedmont's greatest eras. Characterized by cool temperatures, a balanced summer, and a bright late season, 2013 allowed Nebbiolo to ripen slowly and achieve remarkable aromatic precision. This bottle stands out for its noble tannic structure, vibrant tension, and aristocratic depth.

Condition and Provenance

Sourced directly from the original estate and stored in the private cellar of a particularly discerning Swiss connoisseur, this bottle offers absolute guarantees of integrity and preservation.

  • Provenance: Private cellar of a discerning Swiss connoisseur (perfect temperature-controlled storage, direct from the estate).
  • Liquid Level: Perfect (into the neck, original level).
  • Color: Translucent ruby red with garnet reflections and slightly brick-red on the rim, typical of great Nebbiolo.
  • Label: New, intact, impeccable condition.
  • Capsule: Perfect, hermetic, and originally sealed.
  • Overall Impression: A bottle in perfect condition, ready for high-level tasting.

Aromatic Profile and Food Pairings

On the nose, the wine expresses fascinating complexity: dried rose, black cherry, sweet tar, noble leather, undergrowth, white truffle, and hints of sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is very straightforward. The texture is deep, supported by a tight but beautifully fine tannic structure, extending to a saline and persistent finish. Purchase this exceptional bottle to accompany white truffle risotto from Alba, tajarin with chicken livers, or a piece of game with juniper berries.
