The Grande Cuvée from Perrier-Jouet. The very famous "anemones and arabesques" design of this bottle is a creation of the artist Emile Gallé
The 1979 vintage is one of the 5 greatest successes for this cuvée which appeared for the first time in 1969. This Champagne, known for its great finesse, is aimed at a public of connoisseurs.
Tasting notes by D. Fornage on 01/12/2016:
Dense gold color, absolutely beautiful.
A racy and strong nose, with discreet tertiary notes.
The complexity is remarkable: almond, hazelnut, mushroom, honey, apricot kernel?
Everything is delivered with great density, without restraint.
Champagne with a tight structure, pure, lively and fresh.
It has a great personality. Its very lively acidity goes towards the candied lemon and supports it flawlessly from start to finish.
The persistence is impressive in length and strength. A striking personality.
