Domaine Guy Coquard, located in Morey-Saint-Denis, produces very fine wines from the most prestigious appellations of the Côte de Nuits (Clos Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, etc.)
The operation of the estate under the name Guy Coquard ended in 2004 due to the lack of a successor within the family. Since then, the estate's vines have been managed by the excellent Arlaud estate.
Wuat's Review: We tasted a generic 1994 Burgundy from Domaine Coquard because we weren't familiar with the house's style. We were pleasantly surprised by its longevity in a weak vintage.
It's a safe bet that this 1986 "Chambolle" (it always feels a little nice to say "Chambolle-Musigny," probably a professional distortion) is far superior in terms of quality. A potentially very nice surprise, then.
