Ferdinand Bonnet Blanc de Blancs 1973 - La Puissance d'Oger in 1969
This 1969 bottle is a major collector's item to celebrate an anniversary. A wine that has survived more than half a century to reach us in exemplary liquid preservation.
The 1969 Vintage: A Champagne Monument
The 1969 vintage is unanimously hailed as one of the greatest of the second half of the 20th century. Despite contrasting climatic conditions, it produced wines of exceptional concentration and vinosity. As a Blanc de Blancs, 1969 expresses a depth and complexity that only vintages with very long aging potential can offer.
The Terroir of Oger: Chardonnay with Character
Located between Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the village of Oger is renowned for producing fuller-bodied and more generous Chardonnays. The Ferdinand Bonnet house has captured this power in its Premier Cru cuvée. This 1969 vintage reflects traditional expertise, developed during a time when Champagne produced wines designed to stand the test of time.
State of Conservation and Specific Protection
While the precious liquid itself is in pristine condition (fill level below the capsule, vibrant color, intact capsule), the label has suffered the ravages of time and the humidity of its original cellar in Épernay. To preserve its authenticity, we have carefully wrapped the bottle in protective cellophane. Caution : We recommend not removing this film to prevent further deterioration of the label, which has become fragile and brittle.
WUAT's Opinion: A Historic Tasting Opportunity at a Low Price
The 1969 vintage has become virtually impossible to find on the market, especially in this state of liquid preservation. At WUAT, we prioritize the truth of the wine. This Ferdinand Bonnet is a "tasting bottle": the label has seen better days, but the wine itself promises pure emotion for any lover of legendary wines.
Service Tips
A 1969 vintage deserves utmost respect. Serve between 7°C and 8°C. When opening, handle the cork with extreme care. Allow the wine to breathe for 10 to 20 minutes in a tasting glass. This exceptional champagne will be the perfect partner for a chicken with morels or a mature Parmesan cheese.
