Presentation of the Léonce de Valleroy house
A now-defunct trading house, Léonce de Valleroy produced carefully selected vintages in the 1980s. Its bottles, made from Burgundy Grands Crus, have become rare on the market, with a fine reputation for their finesse.
Presentation of the Charmes-Chambertin climate
Located south of the prestigious Chambertin region, the Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin offers supple, elegant, and expressive wines. The terroir is predominantly clay-limestone, facing east/southeast, and boasts an altitude of around 280 meters.
Presentation of the 1989 vintage
A warm and generous vintage. The reds are rich, round, and often perfectly ripe today. The great terroirs offer excellent aging potential.
Condition of the bottle
- Label: very good condition
- Level: perfect
- Color: deep and clear, consistent with a great Burgundy for laying down
Food and wine pairings
- Roast beef fillet with truffle sauce
- Partridge with mushrooms
- Matured soft cheeses (Époisses, Ami du Chambertin)
