The spirit of Beau Soleil

Located on the Pomerol plateau, Château Beau Soleil produces wines that prioritize fruit and balance. Unlike some of its more demonstrative neighbors, Beau Soleil opts for gentle extraction and respectful aging to offer an authentic and approachable expression of Merlot. It is the ideal wine to discover the finesse of the appellation without too much solemnity.

The 2006 vintage in Pomerol

The 2006 vintage has often remained in the shadow of the colossal 2005, making it a bargain for connoisseurs today. It is a year of structure and freshness. After several years of resting in the cellar, the tannins have softened, giving way to a very pleasant tertiary aromatic bouquet, typical of Right Bank wines that have reached their peak.

A wine for pleasure and sharing

As we noted during our own tasting, this Beau Soleil 2006 does not try to be overpowering. It is a "pleasant" wine, which reveals itself with simplicity and sincerity. Its melted structure and evolved fruit make it a versatile and extremely satisfying table companion considering its price.

Bottle condition

This bottle comes directly from our cellar where it has been stored in optimal conditions. The bottle is in very good condition: the labels are slightly stained.

Tasting notes

The color shows nice evolved tile-colored reflections. The nose is open, with notes of prune, undergrowth, fine leather, and blond tobacco. On the palate, the attack is supple. The wine glides smoothly thanks to silky tannins and still-present acidity that brings freshness. It is a balanced wine that finishes on a soft licorice note.

Food and wine pairings

  • Sunday roast chicken with herbs
  • "Petit salé aux lentilles" (salted pork with lentils)
  • Cheese platter with pressed cheeses (Comté, Cantal)
  • Simple pan-fried seasonal mushrooms

Serving suggestions

  • Serving temperature: 16-17°C
  • Aeration: No need for prolonged decanting; opening 30 minutes beforehand is enough to allow the bouquet to unfold.
  • Cellaring: Drink now to enjoy its peak maturity.
