The 1976 Vintage: A Sunny and Historic Vintage

1976 remains etched in memory as the year of the great drought and a historic heatwave summer in Europe. In Pomerol, these extreme conditions resulted in very concentrated grapes with thick skins. The wines born from this sunny vintage are characterized by a beautiful richness and an early tertiary evolution, which today, on the eve of their 50th anniversary, gives them a remarkable roundness and aromatic fullness.

Sales Terms and Condition

We have three bottles of this historic vintage. To ensure perfect fairness, the sale price has been indexed to the bottle with the most marked dressing. Bottles will be distributed on a "first come, first served" basis: the first buyer will receive the bottle with the most preserved label, while the last will receive the bottle with a severely stained label.

Level: Very low neck / High shoulder (start of shoulder, a remarkable and normal level for a bottle that has reached 50 years of age) | Color: Perfect | Capsules: In perfect condition | Labels: Aged and yellowed by time but remained intact. One of the three bottles has a severely stained label, with no impact on its perfect readability | Overall Condition: Very good overall condition.

Tasting Profile and Pairings

• Color: A brick color with amber and tawny reflections, of great clarity, testifying to its long history.
• Nose: An enchanting tertiary bouquet of truffle, undergrowth, old leather, cigar box, and candied prune, highlighted by notes of sweet spices and roasting.
• Palate: The attack is soft and silky. On the palate, the material is delicate, patinated, and perfectly melted, carried by a persistent finish with subtly smoky nuances.
