Located in Moulis-en-Médoc, Château Poujeaux is one of Bordeaux's most renowned crus bourgeois. Long owned by the Theil family, then taken over by the Cuvelier family (Clos Fourtet), the estate enjoys an excellent reputation for its precise, consistent, and generous wines, particularly in the finest vintages. The vineyard covers approximately 68 hectares in a single plot, on the hillsides of Günzian gravel typical of the Médoc.

Presentation of the vintage and the appellation

From the Moulis-en-Médoc terroir, Château Poujeaux is a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, accompanied by Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The 1995 vintage expresses Bordeaux classicism: fine structure, a bouquet of black fruits, mellow oak notes, and a beautiful tannic structure. A serious, complete wine, made for aging. It represents excellent value for money for lovers of traditional Bordeaux wines.

The 1995 vintage is considered a great success in Bordeaux. The reds display beautiful concentration, good balance, and remarkable aging potential. The Cabernets have ripened particularly well.

Condition of the bottle

The bottles come from a very humid cellar.

Level: Perfect

Label: Slightly stained and partially torn, but perfectly legible

Bottles kept close to the ground, with no impact on the quality of the wine. Recent tasting of a 1996 vintage from the same cellar: perfectly preserved wine.
