Vintage and appellation: Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 1999
Clos de la Roche is one of the most powerful Grands Crus of Morey-Saint-Denis. Dominique Laurent offers a rare expression of intensity: dense body, ripe black fruits, minerality, and a perfectly integrated oaky structure. A rare cuvée, made for fine dining and long aging.
Vintage: 1999
A benchmark vintage in Burgundy, 1999 produced rich, structured, and charming wines with exceptional aging potential. Now is the ideal age to discover the full complexity of these great vintages.
Presentation of the vintage:
As is often the case in Burgundy, Le Clos de la Roche takes its name from its highly calcareous terroir. The soil consists of only 30 centimeters of soil, few pebbles, and large boulders.
With 17 hectares (16.89 to be exact) and an annual production of around 84,000 bottles, it is the largest clos in Morey-Saint-Denis.
Despite its size, it is considered one of the best climates in Morey-Saint-Denis and produces fleshy, structured wines with cherry and truffle characters.
