Presentation of the Estate
Heidsieck & Co Monopole was founded in 1785 in Reims. It is one of the oldest Champagne houses. Today, it belongs to the Vranken-Pommery Monopole group. It is known for its straightforward, classic style and iconic vintages such as the "Diamant Bleu."
Presentation of the vintage and the appellation
Coteaux Champenois is a rare AOC produced in the Champagne region, allowing vinification into still (non-sparkling) wine. It covers the same terroirs as Champagne, mostly on limestone and chalky soils. This white cuvée, probably 100% Chardonnay, dates back to the 1980s. Yields are traditionally low, and aging was done in vats or barrels. White Coteaux Champenois from this period are renowned for their pronounced acidity, a guarantee of great longevity. This wine has probably not been the subject of critical notes, being a confidential rarity.
Presentation of the vintage
Probably produced in the 1980s, a decade marked by balanced but sometimes underappreciated vintages. The high natural acidity and winemaking style allow these vintages to age admirably in the cellar.
