Presentation of the Billecart-Salmon house
Founded in 1818 in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the Billecart-Salmon house is one of the independent jewels of Champagne. Still family-owned, it embodies Champagne elegance through precise vintages, slowly aged in the cellar. The Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart, created in 1964, pays homage to the founder.
Presentation of the Nicolas François Billecart vintage
A prestigious cuvée from the house, produced from a balanced blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, vinified partially in barrels and aged for over 10 years on lees before disgorging. This 1991 offers a slightly golden color, evolved aromas combining dried fruits, candied citrus fruits and biscuit, with intact tension on the palate and a noble finish.
Presentation of the 1991 vintage
A demanding vintage in Champagne, 1991 offered some wonderful surprises to rigorous winemakers. This wine is proof of this: impressive longevity, rare balance, and peak aromatic complexity.
