DOM RUINART ROSE 1998 - Magnum of Champagne in original box

Ruinart is the oldest champagne house, founded in 1729 in Reims. The house is now part of the LVMH group after remaining family-owned for two centuries.

Sublime chalk pits serve as a cellar for this equally sublime house and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The vintages are rather focused on Chardonnay, giving the champagnes a finely mineral character, notes of chalk associated with fruit and floral notes.

This Dom Ruinart is made from a blend of 84% Chardonnay and 16% Pinot Noir.

Tasting:

Nose: Initial fruity and delicate aromas, then more opulence as the champagne warms up

Palate: Nice balance with notes of red fruits, liquorice and citrus, good length

Finale: Persistent
