History of the Maison M. Chapoutier
Founded in 1808 in Tain-l'Hermitage, Maison M. Chapoutier is an iconic figure in the Rhône Valley wines. Under the direction of Michel Chapoutier since 1990, the estate has embraced a philosophy of biodynamic viticulture, placing respect for the terroir and excellence at the heart of its practices.
M. Chapoutier is distinguished by its Braille labels, a tribute to Maurice Monier de la Sizeranne, inventor of Braille abbreviation and a historical figure of the region. Each vintage expresses the identity of a unique terroir, with a particular emphasis on the grands crus of Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie.
