Estate Overview: Maison Henschke

Founded in the early 1860s by Johann Christian Henschke in Keyneton, Maison Henschke is one of South Australia's oldest and most prestigious family-owned estates. Under the leadership of the fourth generation with Cyril Henschke in the 1950s, and later Stephen and Prue Henschke (the fifth generation), the estate rose to global prominence through biodynamic viticulture and pioneering work with Eden Valley's century-old vines.

Cuvée and Terroir Overview: Mount Edelstone Shiraz (Eden Valley)

Planted in 1912 by Ronald Angas on Eden Valley's 500-million-year-old soils (deep red clay loams), the Mount Edelstone vineyard is composed entirely of century-old ungrafted Shiraz. First vinified as a single-vineyard cuvée in 1952, this unique terroir produces very low yields, resulting in a wine that is both powerful and elegant, with a complex aromatic structure of black fruit, black pepper, cedar, and sweet spices.
