Presentation of the Maison Laurent-Perrier

Founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne, Laurent-Perrier is one of the greatest Champagne Houses, renowned for its style based on the finesse and elegance of Chardonnay . Now run by the Nonancourt family, it is renowned for its light and elegant Champagnes, including its famous Rosé. This production of Vin Nature was extremely confidential and is a testament to the House's winemaking history.

Characteristics of the Cuvée "Vin Nature de la Champagne Rosé"

The term "Vin Nature de la Champagne" refers to a still (non-sparkling) wine produced in the Champagne appellation area.

  • Appellation: Champagne region, intended to be a still wine and not a sparkling one.
  • Typology: This is a "Rosé Wine", made from Champagne grape varieties (probably Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier). Its rarity is due to the fact that almost the entire harvest was intended for Champagne.
  • Historical Particularities: The presence of the price indication in old "Francs (19.70 F)" clearly dates this bottle to the early or mid-1970s. It is an archival piece that tells the story of the wine trade in France.
  • Notes: Despite its age, this high-quality still rosé wine, stored in a cellar bottle, develops notes of undergrowth, fine leather, and dried fruits. Its color is magnificent and perfectly clear.

Analysis of the Production Period (Early 1970s)

This bottle is estimated to date from the 1970s. The exact vintage is unknown, but the label style and the price in francs confirm this period. Still Champagne wine was a very marginal production at the time. The cork and staple closure testifies to the particular care taken in its aging.
