Presentation of the domain
Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte (Centre Vinicole de la Champagne) brings together a vast network of winemakers. Contemporary style: precision of blends, mastery of aging on lees and the search for a chalky and elegant expression of the Champagne terroirs.
The vintage and the appellation
Palmes d'Or Rosé 2002 is a saignée rosé, made mainly from Pinot Noir from grands crus (Bouzy, Ambonnay, Aÿ). Fermentation in stainless steel vats, partial malolactic fermentation, extended aging on lees (several years) before disgorging. Moderate Brut dosage: satiny texture, vinosity, chalky structure.
Presentation of the vintage
2002 in Champagne: a benchmark year, perfect maturity and clear acidity. Deep, slender wines, great aging capacity and exemplary aromatic precision.
Tasting notes
Refined nose of wild strawberry, raspberry, pink grapefruit, rose petals, brioche and flint. Palate with very fine mousse: fresh attack, ample and vinous heart, salivating length on chalk and blood orange. Serve 10–12 °C, wide tulip glass.
Bottle condition
Condition as per photos: healthy level and color; label, cap and wire cage in good condition (check visually).
Food and wine pairings
Semi-cooked tuna with sesame seeds, raspberry condiments.
Roasted poultry, red fruit jus.
Grilled lobster, lemon butter.
WUAT Disclaimer
