Presentation of the Deutz house
Founded in 1838 in Aÿ, the Deutz house is one of the oldest in Champagne. It is currently managed by Fabrice Rosset. It cultivates over 42 hectares and also sources its wines from partner winemakers, primarily Premiers and Grands Crus. Deutz is renowned for its straightforward, elegant, and distinguished style.
Presentation of the William Deutz vintage
The William Deutz cuvée is the house's prestige cuvée, produced only in prime years. The 1996 vintage is a blend of predominantly Pinot Noir, accompanied by Chardonnay and a small proportion of Meunier. Aged for a long time on lees, this cuvée has won critics over for its intensity, precision, and exceptional freshness. Magnum format, ideal for special occasions. Rated 95/100 by Wine Spectator, 18/20 by Jancis Robinson.
Introducing the 1996 Vintage: The Best Since 1990
The 1996 Champagne vintage is considered legendary. It was a dry, sunny year with high acidity and perfectly ripe grapes. The wines are remarkably long-lived, balanced, and dense. Magnum format is even more suited to long-term aging.
